India to hold 3G spectrum Auction

The number of mobile subscribers in India, the world’s second-largest wireless market, jumped more than 56 percent in the year to May 31 to about 280 million and is expected to grow to 737 million by 2012.
The Indian government has announced it will hold a global auction for high-speed third-generation (3G) mobile services and have five operators initially.
